Grapes and Hobgoblins... In Lancaster?

Here in Lancaster County, we are now deep into the fall, and with that brings all things that one can expect from autumn in Lancaster. As the locals prepare for the winter with their harvesting and canning, the area is filled with the smell of crisp leaves, warm cider and loads of home baked goods at every corner. And with the close of the 2009 season, Lancaster County Tours brings to you education, excitement and just the tiniest bit of mystery.

And as Jan from the Artist's Inn and I from the Harvest Moon Bed and Breakfast prepare for our up coming tours, we are anxious to get out on the back roads of Lancaster. Our goal: discover new and exciting wineries, unexplored cheese caves and unique culinary venues that will make it on the A list of next years tours.

In the mean time, we anxiously await our new tour this year... Lancaster's Unexplained Tour. With a visit from Charles J. Adams III, ( paranormal writer ) a tour of the Fulton Opera House, and a stop at the Cocalico Historical Society, the tour is sure to be a winner. The ghost will not be popping out at every corner, however the thrill of a yarn from years ago will conjure spooks in everyone's mind.

November is not a time to be missed for touring Lancaster County, especially when it is an educational tour like our Wine and Cheese tours. As we travel through Lancaster County we discover what makes it so special. With stops at two of the areas growing list of wineries and visits with the local cheese artisans, the day could only be topped with a dinner at one of Lancaster's finest restaurants.

As we end our year of tours, we have new endeavors lined up for next year; one of them being a Chocolate and Wine tour in February, ( if you have never tried... the two go great together ). Along with new restaurants, dairy farms and breweries, the list goes on with the many things available for us in Lancaster... our mission, simple... bring to you the finest in culinary that Lancaster has to offer. We hope that you enjoy!
